Shaw Building Group

With the need to deliver floor plans, fit out detailing, joinery and lighting design; the inspiration for this office design was drawn from the businesses logo, which features a palette of blue, green and grey within hexagonal shapes.

The existing building has had multiple uses in the past including a car showroom. The approach from turning this space from its past life into a new one meant walls and concrete ramps were demolished, ceiling services were hidden and the challenge was overcome of turning this car showroom into a working office environment.

This office fit out had to work with restricted ceiling heights and minimal natural light with the requirement to feature multiple meeting rooms, breakout areas and working areas.

Upon entering the Shaw Building group office, you are greeted with a modern industrial fit out. A solid ash timber reception desk meets white angled shapes, drawing your eye in with strip lighting. The waiting area embodying the industrial look and feel with a detailed rope wall which creates an impactful first impression and adds drama to a wall that was otherwise plain.

Each space has feature accents with the kitchen reflecting elements from the logo through the Hexagonal porcelain tiles used in the splash back. As you look up in the boardroom, you see a timber ceiling feature broken up with strip lighting, covering up an open ceiling from the past and introducing a modern design treatment. The Shaw office fit out is one that embodies an industrial feel, while maintaining a functional working environment.
